10. Visit the Fisherman’s Bastion. This beautiful bastion features Disney-esque turrets and pointed towers and is perfect for a picture opportunity. It was built during the 19th century for Hungarian Millennium celebrations and you can eat the top of the hill as well while looking over Pest.

When you think Kenya safari, perhaps its Amboseli you are thinking. Indeed one of the popular images of an African safari in most wildlife documenteries is that of a herd of elephants strolling across the plains with the snow-capped peak of a mountain in the background.

The mountain is mount Kilimanjaro Africa's highest mountain and the world's tallest freestanding mountain. It is actually across the border in Tanzania but Amboseli has a perfect view of this rising an impressive 5 kilometres above the plains. The best time to view the majestic mountain is at dawn and sunset, when the clouds lift and the light is both clear and soft.

The park is about 200km from Nairobi on fairly good roads, and the usual route is via Namanga on the A104. The last 75km from Namanga is a bit bumpy so be prepared. Air Kenya also offers daily flights to the reserve.

Amboseli combines well with Tsavo National Park to the east, or a mombasa beach holiday to unwind after a wildlife safari.

The park is actually considered one of the smaller game parks in Kenya, but it offers you the best opportunity of seeing the critically endangered black rhino, along with a spectacular range of wildlife.The area considered to be relatively flat, with its well-munched vegetation also ensures that animals are easy to spot. Lions can easily be found and can occasionally be watched stalking their prey. Buffalo, cheetah, gazelle, hyena, jackal, wildebeest, zebra, and baboon are just some of the animals that can be encountered at Amboseli.

The park gets it water from streams thought to be water from mount kilimanjaro creating swamps that attract and support a rich diversity of wild animals and birdlife.Most of Amboseli is flat and dusty and so the best spots for game viewing are these wetlands.
Amboseli national park was set aside as a Southern Reserve' for Maasai in the year 1906 but returned to local control as a Game Reserve in 1948. Officially Gazetted a National Park in 1974 in order to protect the core this unique ecosystem, it was declared a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve in 1991.

Five years ago Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki declared that control of amboseli national park should pass from the Kenya Wildlife Service to the Olkejuado County Council and the Maasai. Some critics saw this as a political favor in advance of a vote then on a new Kenyan constitution which never passed when the majority of Kenyans rejected it. The degazetting would divert park admission fees directly to the County Council with questionable spread of benefits to the Maasai immediately surrounding the park. It would set an unfortunate precedent that could jeopardise the status of other parks in Kenya.

When taking a Royal Caribbean cruise, you may want to consider how much you will tip ahead of time. Cruise lines differ in their tipping policies: some have built-in service fees and others leave envelopes at the end of the cruise to be filled at your discretion.

The advantage to paying ahead is that if you run over budget on things like spa visits or port purchases, you are already covered. If, on the other hand, you want to have discretion over whom and how much to tip, setting aside about $20.00 a day per guest will give you enough to cover everyone that you need to.

The suggestions for tipping on Royal Caribbean cruises may change, of course. Some cruise lines have converted to standard service fees because of the influx of non-English speaking tourists. I don't know about you, but I never want to break the bank when it comes to spending time to regroup and reconnect. We've all seen the vast number of internet travel sites the offer us cheap travel deals. However, before jumping on any travel deal, there are a couple of things you should know. It always helpful to select a few places we would like to visit beforehand. One of the things to consider are traveling time. Do you want to travel during peak or off peak hours?
