Beaches of Goa

Goa is the land of beaches comprising of both commercial as well as quiet adobes serving everyone who sets foot here. North Goa has busy beaches decked with late night parties whereas South Goan beaches provide enough room for silence and serenity. Goa witnesses heavy crowds from December to February. Anjuna Beach
This beach stretches towards 30 km west of Mapusa. It is famous as a shopping hub when the north of Anjuna springs into life due to Flea Market that holds all accessories ranging from locally printed beach wears to kashmiri handicrafts. Anjuna beach should be visited during November to March when it is decked with peppy beach parties.

Arambol Beach
Arambol extends about 16 kms and consists of two beaches. The beach is known for its water sports and availability of Dolphin watching. There also a range of Luxury Holiday Villas in Goa. With shops adjacent to the beach that sell garments and junk jewellery, the beach is also popular for Tai-chi which is non permanent henna. There are centres for massage, yoga and meditation in the area near to the beach.


Baga Beach
Baga beach is one of the busiest beaches in Goa that draws maximum tourists. It is immensely popular because of the water sports activities like para sailing, wake boarding, jet-skis and wind surfing etc. People can relax and enjoy under beach umbrellas while evenings are blissful with commoners and tourists. Local bands come to perform and people enjoy dancing to the tune of their songs.

Benaulim Beach
This is located in South Goa and is famous for fishing. It is amongst the undiscovered beaches of Goa. People can relax as well as sun bath and order eateries from eating joints lined along the shores. Church of St. John the Baptist is a must visit. The beach is also immensely popular for its handicrafts and the traditional rosewood furniture.

Calangute Beach
This beach is exclusively famous for its market that sells products from Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. The beach is located 15 kilometres from Panaji and has a diversity of luxury beach villas in goa. It has amenities for water sports like para sailing, wind surfing and kitesurfing. Swimmers ought be careful while swimming due to sudden rise and fall of tides.

Candolim Beach
This beach is ideal for watersports, fishing, yoga and meditation. The sunset view has diverse  serenity which invites people to visit it again and again. The beach is 18 kms from Panaji and is popular because of Aguada Fort which was built in 1912 by Portuguese as a barricade against Marathas and the Dutch.

Cavelossim Beach
Cavelossim Beach is one of the most appealing beaches of Goa. There are various Water sports activities like boating, swimming, rowing, sailing and diving. Also there are shacks that offer exquisite cuisine. This is a great hub for shoppers selling Indian handicrafts, gift items, aromatic sticks etc.
Colva Beach
This beach has gained popularity in recent years and is quite beautiful. There are watersports activities like swimming, sailing and diving. Fishing is done by locals and they leave fishes along shoreline to dry in sun. Commoners put stalls of eatable as well as drinks that attract travellers and create frenzy environment around the beach.
