Most Common Interesting Facts About Panama

No comments :

Laurie C:
As Panama is mostly visited by tourists as a developing country and one that is involved in trade, tourism, real estate, commerce, and banking, it can be observed that there are many interesting facts about Panama that may range from infrastructure, economy, politics and its culture. The interesting facts about Panama leave a trademark of what Panama is all about. There are several points that can be marked but we can just limit it to the six most common among many observations on Panama.

First, the most common interesting fact about Panama is the Panama Canal. Aside from real estate, the Panama Canal is one of the popular things when you talk about Panama. The canal is the waterway which joins the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It becomes interesting because of its complex engineering structure that makes it the most difficult and largest project ever undertaken Panama. Ships from the two oceans emerge in this canal making it a conduit of most international shipping. Travel time from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea is only two hours when you pass by the Panama Canal.

The second common interesting fact about Panama is its currency. Panama uses the US Dollar for bills but the coins are called Balboa. Yet, the official national currency of Panama is the Balboa, which is pegged to the US Dollar.

When it comes to population, there are also interesting facts about Panama. Although it is the most industrialized country in Central America, Panama real estate is really affordable, and Panama has the lowest population in Central America. Its population is composed of 70% mestizo that comprises a mixture of Europeans and Native Americans. Panamanians speak mostly Spanish although most can relate to English.

Again, one of the common interesting facts about Panama is that the place Boquete is one of the best destinations for retirees per Modern Maturity magazine. In other popular magazine, the International Livings, Panama is the number one place in the world to retire. Basically, there are many real estate buyers and investors in Panama that are retirees. They enjoy the affordability and tax incentives in Panama for real estate.

Another interesting fact about Panama is that it has large number of banking and financing institutions. Because banking forms part of its main economic activity, Panama has several banking laws that protect business from foreigners. The total number of these banking laws is 40 and this includes banking privacy law and foreigner to local equality laws.

Finally, for miscellaneous observations, there are also interesting facts about Panama. Baseball is the most common sports in Panama together with boxing and soccer. If Hong Kong has the largest duty free zone, Panama has the second largest. Also, it has the second largest registrant for offshore companies second to Hong Kong.

Of course there are still many interesting facts about Panama in other aspects in the society that you can observe or read from books about Panama, but the most common are the above. You can readily pinpoint other interesting facts about Panama when they differ from the current place and culture from which you live or when the certain facts are unique only to Panama.

Tips for the Las Vegas Traveler

No comments :

To get from the airport to your hotel in style, you may consider taking a limousine. The airport also runs a shuttle service and there are several taxi services you can employ.
Remote check in has become quite popular. If you are staying at Paris, MGM Grand, Bally's, Caesar's Palace, or the Flamingo, you are able to check in once you get to the airport. They give you your room key at the airport and you can go straight to your room without the hassle of waiting in line at the front desk.

There are several free guides to tell you what is going on at any given time in Las Vegas. “What's On” magazine will tell you about all of the buffets, shows, restaurants and malls in the area. It also has multiple ads for tours for the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Death Valley.

Bring a bottle of water with you wherever you go. Because of the dry air of the desert setting, you can lose more fluid than you think. Always stop and get some water or a drink every few hours to rehydrate yourself.

Always be careful with your purse or wallet. This is especially true around crowds. At the Fremont Street Experience, there are a lot of people standing around and it is a pickpocket's heaven. Somebody may accidentally bump into you. Check your pockets afterward.

Don't try to walk from Fremont Street back to the strip. You will walk through area where there are not a lot of people even in the daytime. Ladies, be especially careful.

When crossing the street, make sure to use the crosswalks. You can be fined for not following the sign. Also, wait for the WALK before you cross. Local people will fly down the strip and you could be injured. Many of the people driving cars are also tourists who are sightseeing while driving and not paying complete attention to the road.

Fort Jesus Mombasa

No comments :

The site is located in Mombasa Island which is in the Coast province of Kenya. It lies a distance of about 490-km from Nairobi city.

The Portuguese built Fort Jesus in 1593. The site chosen was a coral ridge at the entrance to the harbor. The Fort was designed by an Italian Architect and Engineer, Joao, Batista Cairato. The earliest known plan of the Fort is in a manuscript Atlas by Manuel Godinho de Heredia - dated 1610 which shows the original layout of the buildings inside the Fort.

Fort Jesus is a Portuguese fort built in 1593 by order of King Philip II of Spain ( King Philip I of Portugal ), then ruler of the joint Portuguese and Spanish Kingdoms, located on Mombasa Island to guard the Old Port of Mombasa, Kenya. It was built in the shape of a man (viewed from the air), and was given the name of Jesus, after Shaikh Isa Bin Tarif Al Bin Ali Al Utbi conquered the fort in 1837 after being asked for assistance by Sayyid Said Bin Sultan , Sultan of Oman. The name Jesus in Arabic means Isa, therefore it means the Fort of Isa ( Isa Bin Tarif ). Isa Bin Tarif , Chief of the Al Bin Ali Al Utbi Tribe , is a descendant of the original uttoobee conquerors of Bahrain. The Al Bin Ali  were a politically important group that moved backwards and forwards between Qatar and Bahrain, they were the original dominant group of Zubara area , they were also known for their courage, persistence, and abundant wealth

Fort Jesus was built to secure the safety of Portuguese living on the East Coast of Africa. It has had a long history of hostilities of the interested parties that used to live in Mombasa. Perhaps no Fort in Africa has experienced such turbulence as Fort Jesus. Omani Arabs attacked the Fort from 1696 to 1698. The state of the Fort can be understood from the plan of Rezende of 1636 and other plans by Don Alvaro? Marquis of Cienfuegas and Jose? Lopes de Sa - made during the brief reoccupation by the Portuguese in 1728 - 1729. In the Cienfuegas plan, the names of the bastions are changed.

Between 1837 and 1895, the Fort was used as barracks for the soldiers. When the British protectorate was proclaimed on the 1st of July 1895, the Fort was converted into a prison. The huts were removed and cells were built. On the 24th October 1958, Fort Jesus was declared a National Park in the custody of the Trustees of the Kenya National Parks. Excavation was carried out and the Fort became a Museum in 1962. The Fort is now an important historical landmark in the East African region.

The Fort Jesus museum was built with a grant from the Gulbenkian Foundation. The exhibits consist of finds from archaeological excavations at Fort Jesus, Gede, Manda, Ungwana and other sites. Other objects on display were donated by individuals notably Mrs. J.C. White, Mr. C.E. Whitton and Mrs. W.S. Marchant. The Fort has lived through the years of hostilities and a hush climate and is structurally well - maintained.

Other places you may visit to complement your day or excursion include the Ngomongo Villages, Mamba Village, Haller Park Nature trail, Old town Mombasa,

You will not fail to get a place to put up for the night. Accommodation units are available both in the city centre and the suburbs. You may opt for the hotels, bed and breakfast units, apartments, villas,Beach Resorts, cottages, speciality lodges, guest houses or hostels.

Living In Mexico As An Expat

1 comment :

by Lee Carter:

If you want to enjoy a vacation in Mexico it is very easy to come to one of the resorts like Cancun or Cabo and spend as many weeks as you like indulging yourself in an all-inclusive vacation at one of the hotels. And while it is true you can speak nothing but English and enjoy your time in Mexico, there is a big difference between being a visitor to the country and living as a permanent expat.

First and foremost, you don't necessarily need to have a visa to live in Mexico. The government permits foreigners to stay for up to six months on their passport without having any sort of proof of income or exit strategy. In other words, you can buy a one-way plane ticket to Mexico and stay for six months in any part of the country that you like. Beyond that, you have to apply for a visa.

If you want to become more than just another tourist transfer into the expat lifestyle, you'll need a visa of some kind so that you don't have to worry about leaving the country every six months to get more time on your passport. As long as you have around $1000 per month of income coming in from pension or a freelance source, you can get a residency visa. You can also register a company in Mexico to get the same thing.

The cost of living is one of the primary reasons people choose to live in Mexico as expats, because you can have a nice middle-class lifestyle for around $10,000 per year, or you could have an upper-class lifestyle on around $20,000 per year. $50,000 a year will allow you to live like a rock star in Hollywood, with premium real estate on the beach and plenty of luxuries year round.

Unlike some countries which have very strict regulations and rules surrounding a way of life, Mexico is known for being one of the most laid-back destinations an expat can choose from. Drug use is completely decriminalized, tequila and ceviche are incredibly cheap, prostitution is completely legal and you have your choice of beaches, mountains or jungle to choose from.

Amboseli Tours

1 comment :

by Becky Jean:

When you think Kenya safari, perhaps its Amboseli you are thinking. Indeed one of the popular images of an African safari in most wildlife documenteries is that of a herd of elephants strolling across the plains with the snow-capped peak of a mountain in the background.

The mountain is mount Kilimanjaro Africa's highest mountain and the world's tallest freestanding mountain. It is actually across the border in Tanzania but Amboseli has a perfect view of this rising an impressive 5 kilometres above the plains. The best time to view the majestic mountain is at dawn and sunset, when the clouds lift and the light is both clear and soft.

The park is about 200km from Nairobi on fairly good roads, and the usual route is via Namanga on the A104. The last 75km from Namanga is a bit bumpy so be prepared. Air Kenya also offers daily flights to the reserve.

Amboseli combines well with Tsavo National Park to the east, or a mombasa beach holiday to unwind after a wildlife safari.

The park is actually considered one of the smaller game parks in Kenya, but it offers you the best opportunity of seeing the critically endangered black rhino, along with a spectacular range of wildlife. The area considered to be relatively flat, with its well-munched vegetation also ensures that animals are easy to spot. Lions can easily be found and can occasionally be watched stalking their prey. Buffalo, cheetah, gazelle, hyena, jackal, wildebeest, zebra, and baboon are just some of the animals that can be encountered at Amboseli.

The park gets it water from streams thought to be water from mount kilimanjaro creating swamps that attract and support a rich diversity of wild animals and birdlife. Most of Amboseli is flat and dusty and so the best spots for game viewing are these wetlands.
Amboseli national park was set aside as a Southern Reserve' for Maasai in the year 1906 but returned to local control as a Game Reserve in 1948. Officially Gazetted a National Park in 1974 in order to protect the core this unique ecosystem, it was declared a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve in 1991.

Five years ago Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki declared that control of amboseli national park should pass from the Kenya Wildlife Service to the Olkejuado County Council and the Maasai. Some critics saw this as a political favor in advance of a vote then on a new Kenyan constitution which never passed when the majority of Kenyans rejected it. The degazetting would divert park admission fees directly to the County Council with questionable spread of benefits to the Maasai immediately surrounding the park. It would set an unfortunate precedent that could jeopardise the status of other parks in Kenya.

Several Lodges are to be found on this park one of them is Amboseli serena lodge.
Amboseli Serena Lodge, is framed against the glorious backdrop of Africa?s highest mountain, the magnificently beautiful Mount Kilimanjaro.

The lodge is set in the Amboseli National Park, about 270km South East of Nairobi. it is surrounded by miles of rolling grasslands, patrolled by vast herds of elephant and shaded by the lush, feathered-green of an acacia grove.
Hugging the banks of a gently flowing river, this very traditional yet supremely luxurious lodge is the safari destination of a lifetime.

The lodge offers superb accommodation in 96 guest rooms, each with an uninterrupted view over the ever-changing vistas of the African plains.

They are styled to a traditional Maasai concept featuring beadwork, gourds, hand-painted murals and the clever use of the traditional manyatta bent-brushwood effect so as to blend an authentic nomadic aura with all the comforts of unabashed five star luxuries with En suite
Bath & Shower.

by Paula Williams:

With the resorts in Fiji there is no shortage of accomodating choices for the weary traveler or holiday maker who arrives on this attractive region. Numerous villas and hotels await anyone who holidays in Fiji and will meet every need. Those people going with a family group are going to be delighted to know that within the town of Nadi you can find specifically designed family accommodation. For those that would like to save a modest amount of cash, budget hotels is likewise an option.

Nadi is generally the first place individuals see when they arrive at the Nadi International Airport. It offers numerous accommodation options for tourists. Huts, hostels and motels are all within reach. The Airport motels exist for those who may find themselves heading on to an additional island, and are in need of an overnight stay. For business seminars, they're great and suitable. I strongly suggest the vicinity of Nadi should you be looking for Fiji packages.

The town Nadi is an entry for tourists as the close by airport delivers in a continual flow of guests, keeping the location energetic and exciting. Many seaside resorts exist not too distant from the town alone, such as the Denarau resorts which are situated about a forty minute ride away. Denarau is often a hot choice for a lot of people to visit.

The island alone is linked to mainland Fiji by a little causeway. It's got an exquisite beachfront as well as a wide selection of accommodations to go along with it. Several well-known and world renowned resort brands can be discovered right here, amongst them are the Westin, Radisson, Capricorn Trendwest and Hilton. These hotels clearly will cater for the traveler who is more ready to spend higher for a much better quality of services.

Clearly, simply because of its amenities, Denarau is a very practical spot to pick. Island-hopping transfer services are available here for all those curious enough to take an outing to the other islands of Fiji, especially to the Mamanuca and Yasawa groups. With beaches, a shopping complex, tennis courts and many more amenities, one can be positive that it'll never be boring.

Heading about thirty minutes off from Nadi International Airport one shows up across an area known as the Coral Coast. This has become a well known destination among visitors for a long time. It has an attractive, comforting lagoon as well as a coral reef that is its main feature. A beautiful region, additionally, it boasts a wide range of resorts and hotels to choose from. Needless to say, separate from Fiji itself is a group of islands known as the Yasawa Islands.

The Yasawa Island group is clearly identified for light sandy seashores and significant sunshine levels, especially at peak hrs. While budget accommodation can most likely be found at Mamanuca, nearly all of it is located in the Yasawa island group. Several of the things to do within the isles revolve around water sports such as windsurfing, parasailing and more. Many people looking for inexpensive resorts in Fiji usually go to Yasawa.

Of course some holiday getaway makers are going to want to spend time alone and enjoy a little of seclusion. On the island of Tuvena it is achievable to lease out a suite and enjoy this much more peaceful approach. But the facilities of the resort are still in the area with discos and dining establishments just a stroll away.

Algeria Tourist Destinations For Dazzling Holiday Trip

Algeria is a least explored place on earth by travelers and tourists, not because it's not worth exploring but because of the less information about the region among the tourists. There are so many places of interests in Algeria that it cannot be ignored at all.Just like prehistoric rock art of Tassili n'Ajje and botanical gardens and impressive palaces of Algiers. The ancient towns and desert region of Algeria makes it unique in a way too.

Many people like the idea of Algeria tourist destination, due to its locality in North Africa. Those who are looking for beautiful beaches visit the northern side of the country. Some common beach resorts are Les Andalouses, Canastel, Mostaganem and Ain El Turk. To study the tribal and cultural aspects of Algeria you can visit places like Tassili N'Ajjer and Hoggar regions, near the town of Tamanrasset, unique on its own and because of this reason most people are considering Algeria as tourist destination.

You should also visit the Monument des Martyrs, which was created to remember the struggles and sacrifices of its people for the Algerian war for Independence. The monument basically features Eternal Flame shelter and palm leaves which contain the statues of soldiers symbolizing the struggles of Algerian people during war.

One of the UNESCO world Heritage Sites in Algeria is Al Qal'a of Beni Hammad, the place used to be the first capital of Hammadid Empire. Did you know that Algeria is second largest country in Africa? The Atlas Mountain separates it into two halves. The city of Annaba is also one of the major tourist attractions in Algeria, and is one of the major industrial centres of Algeria. One of the most visited places in Algeria is Constantine.

Other significant monuments of interests are, Our Lady of Africa (Algiers), New Mosque (Algiers), Ottoman Hanafi Mosque (Algiers), Roman Ruins (Timgad), Roman arch of Trajan (Timgad), Central Sahara (Assekrem), Santa Cruz castle (Oran) and Hoggar mountains (Sahara desert) and Blezma National Park at Batna province, home to more than 447 flora species and 309 fauna species.

The top rated restaurants of Algeria are Le Taj Mahal, Restaurant Chez Sauveur and Auberge Du Moulin. Those who like shopping can buy local carpets, jewellery, crafted woods, can visit street markets for local handicrafts. But Friday is not a good day for shopping because most of the shops are closed on Fridays, so keep that in mind while you are there. You can always find olives and dates, local spices in Algeria.

"Algeria Tourist Destination" yes think about it and definitely give a visit while you never know what you are missing.

A Traveler's Guide to Holidays in Algeria

by Victoria Tamara:

North Africa has many exciting holiday destinations among which Algeria is named. Algeria is however one of the least visited countries in Africa despite is rich cultural heritage, wildlife and dazzling scenery.

Being part of the countries in northern Africa, people always think that Algeria is a fully under the vast Sahara desert sand dunes but this is not the case. You'll be amazed by the oases and the bio-diversity of several Algeria national parks and reserves located on the Mediterranean Sea coast.

There are more than 9 national parks and reserves in Algeria, many of them located in the Tell Atlas mountain ranges that stretch for miles creating a buffer zone for extension of the desert to the coast. Some of the most popular ones include Tassili n Ajjer, Belzema and El Kala National parks that are known to have dense forests that are home to the endangered Barbary Macaque only found in this part of Africa.

The ancient towns of Algeria such as Algiers the capital are exciting places to visit.  In Algiers, you have the choice of attractions and tours to places like Our Lady of Africa, Ottoman Hanafi Mosque and the Monument des Martyrs that commemorates the people who fought hard for the independence of Algeria. Constantine is also a major town whose heritage is traced more than 5000 years ago

If it is the culture, heritage and people that interest you, the choice comes with visiting the different places like the World Heritage site called Al Qala of Beni Hammad which was formerly a capital of the Hammadid Empire.  The roman ruins and the Arch of Trajan in Timgrad Algeria complete your heritage adventure.

Since Algeria is the second largest country in Africa, it may take you more days and nights to adventure every corner of it. It is thus recommended to find places to stay. Algiers is number one stop for Algeria's five star hotels, guesthouses, apartments and villas. A few kilometers from the airport in Algiers are options like Hotel El Djazair and Sofitel Algiers Hotels among many other classy hotels.

Eating and dining in a delight in Algeria's hotels, restaurants and resorts. A few of the top restaurants in Algeria include the Le Taj Mahal and Auberge du Molin among others. Shopping too is fun in many towns in Algeria. Some of the items in the markets and gift shops include the locally handmade carpets, art work and painting and sculptures among others. You will be amazed by how God has gifted Algeria with so many talents and artistic hands!

The Pink City

1 comment :

by Crystal Groome:

The first fingers of dawn kiss the bell tower of the Basilica of St. Sernin, coaxing a faint pink glow from its brick façade. As the sun arcs across the sky, the cathedral and its host city of Toulouse take on a warm rosy hue that deepens with each passing hour. Dusk brings an ethereal glow, a welcoming warmth emanating from structures built centuries ago. Such is life in Toulouse, the famed Pink City of France.
Putting the Pink in Toulouse

The Romans, Turks, Basques and the Celts are just a few of the civilizations that made their mark on Toulouse. Originally called Tolosa, the city was founded at a convenient crossing point on the Garonne River. One of the earliest uses of the pinkish clay brick is in the Vomitorium, a Roman-styled passageway in an amphitheater dating back to the first century.

As the centuries passed, and Toulouse changed its name and its rulers walls went up and the city grew, eventually becoming the capital of its own county in the 9th century. Toulouse was technically part of France, but tended to run its affairs independently. The construction of theBasilica of St. Sernin began in 1080, again using the same clay-pink bricks, an unusual material for a cathedral. Centuries later in 1750 the Capitole de Toulouse, originally built in 1190, was redesigned. The Neoclassical style building and its square carried on the “pretty in pink’ tradition.

What to See in Toulouse

The logical place to start is with a guided walking tour of Toulouse. That way you’ll get your bearings and view the city through the eyes of a local. Get tips on where to dine, where to sip the finest wine, even the best place to watch your first pink-tinged sunset. After that, strike out on your own in this captivating, pedestrian-friendly city. The Basilica of St. Sernin and the Capitole should be on your to do list. Add to this the Pont-Neuf, dating back to 1626, the oldest bridge that crosses the Garonne River. The Canal du Midi was completed in 1681 and created a shortcut between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. This not only saved time but helped ships avoid Barbary pirates that plied the waters around Spain.

Today the canal and its lock system are a tourist attraction, drawing boaters, fishermen and acting as a liquid waterway for some of Europe’s most luxurious hotel barges. The Barge Connection operates two barges, the eight-passenger Rosa and the six-passenger Saint Louis and offers cruises along the Garonne River, beginning and/or ending in Toulouse.

Museums Celebrating Art and Science

Museum buffs, indulge in a visit to the Ausgustins Museum, housing works from famed Italian and French artists including Toulouse-Lautrec, born in nearby Albi. This post-impressionist artist studied under Leon Bonnat and Vincent Van Gogh and is known for his portraitures. Les Abattoirs, famed for its collection of modern art and the Toulouse Museum of Natural History featuring its own flying quetzalcoatlus dinosaur skeleton, are not to be missed.

Toulouse also made its mark in the field of aviation. This is the birthplace of the Concorde, the only commercial aircraft, so far, to fly faster than the speed of sound. That’s better than Mach 1 to you aviation buffs. Airbus, the firm that built the Concorde and still produces planes for carriers around the world, offers guided tours of its facility. Cite de I’Espace is another aviation/science attraction, dedicated to the study of the universe and flights beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.

Only in Toulouse

La Maison de la Violette is a revamped 1930s riverboat anchored on the Canal du Midi. The first thing you notice, even before stepping aboard, is an abundance of violet, both the color and the flower. The “Violet of Toulouse” is a registered trademark and these flowers have been exported since the mid 1800s. These delicate purple flowers are not only decorative; they are used in perfumes, teas, cakes, candies and other tasty treats.

On rugby day, everything else in Toulouse stops. What began in the late 1800s as a competition sport at schools and universities gave way to the city’s Stade Toulouain rugby team. They took the championships in the 2010-2011 season and have a record four wins of the Heineken Cup. That is only a short list of wins for the team that plays at the Stadium Municipal de Toulouse. Rugby is a type of football, played without all the padding and equipment used in the American version.

Creature Comforts – Hotels and Dining

Accommodations in Toulouse range from well known, moderately priced hotel brands such as Best Western and Holiday Inn to luxurious French-flavored properties like the Grand Hotel de L’Opera. Located on Capitol Square, this property was once a 17th century convent. Today the hotel welcomes guests to stay in decadent rooms and suites, elegantly furnished in shades of red and gold. Dine under delicate chandeliers in the onsite restaurant, Les Jardins de L’Opera or relax with your favorite beverage in the Venetian inspired Grand Hotel de L’Opera Bar.

Across the street is the Crown Plaza Toulouse, a modern Five-Star property offering rooms and suites for business and leisure travelers. Dining in L’Autantic, the award winning restaurant overlooking the “pink city” is a memorable experience. The Grand Patio and Petit Patio offer al fresco dining, and the Plaza Bar entertains with live piano music along with its collection of wines and whiskies. Those wanting a room near the rail station will find the Pullman Toulouse Center a lovely choice. Hotel prices tend to be less than those in Paris.

Other dining options include Emile, famed for their Toulouse style Cassoulet and duck entrees and Monsieur Georges, offering regional wines to go along with their locally influenced dishes. Both are close to the Capitol Square. You might consider a meal and a bit of wine tasting at Le Temps des Vendanges in the quartier Saint-Cyprien, or a visit to the Victor Hugo Market and their assortment of restaurants.

Getting to Toulouse

Blagnac International Airport is roughly 20 minutes from the Toulouse city center. Shuttle buses, leaving every 20 minutes, or taxis get you into town. Car rentals are available, but keep in mind that most streets in Toulouse are narrow and parking can be a challenge. If you do want a car, major brands such as Avis, Budget and Hertz are represented. Trains from Paris is another option with service from points throughout Europe.

Then again, you could just book a luxury barge vacation with Barge Connection, offering trips throughout France and other parts of Europe since 1998. Why not arrive in Toulouse thoroughly rested and content?

What Kids can do in Abu Dhabi

1 comment :

by Michael Thornton:

First and foremost, it is an intact reality that the place is not any less fun than all the major cities of the world and one can enjoy as much as they do on any of their trips to New York or Paris or Cairo.

From activities for kids to enjoyment for elders, the city has it all. The hotels in Abu Dhabi are verily luxurious and provide a lot of options for those who like diversity of assortments for them to make a choice. Also flights to Abu Dhabi are not as expensive as flights to other places but all of that depends on where one lives. Once a family arrives in the city they can access any of the Abu Dhabi car hire options that will make them independent in terms of transportation. Anyone who wants to visit Abu Dhabi can get hold of a rental car to enjoy the attractions of the region at their own convenience and time preference.

There are a lot of restaurants as well that offer a lot of local as well as international cuisines for the tourists. Also for the shopping lovers, the malls are amazing and contain retail outlets from all the major brands of the world. Even for those who want to enjoy their Abu Dhabi holidays in solitude and peace and relish some quality family time, there are many things to explore such as art galleries, outdoor sports, museums and so on and so forth.

Trips to any of these places is not only entertaining but it is also enlightening for the kids as well as the adults. If someone is visiting with friends instead of family members, there are other choices in terms of recreational activities such as movie theaters, spas, fitnesscenters and so on and so forth. Basically there is no dearth of fun options for any kind of people coming from any kind of place as the city promises lasting amusement for its visitors.

No wonder the emergence of Abu Dhabi and rest of the cities of the United Arab Emirates is quite prominent in the tourist industry as fresh options for those who have already toured all the major cities from the European attractions to the historical elements of charm spread all over the world. All in all be that the prospect of what kids can do in Abu Dhabi or what adults can do in the city, the most important fact to consider in this regard is that one would not regret the days they spent in this particular tourist region.

Tipping on Royal Caribbean Cruises

No comments :

by Margaret Levine:

When taking a Royal Caribbean cruise, you may want to consider how much you will tip ahead of time. Cruise lines differ in their tipping policies: some have built-in service fees and others leave envelopes at the end of the cruise to be filled at your discretion.

Royal Caribbean in particular has no requirement for tipping--only suggested guidelines that you pay before you disembark. However, many of the people that work on cruise lines rely on gratuities for a decent salary. If you are unsure of whom and how much to tip, you can follow their guidelines and pay in cash before you leave or simply pay in advance by adding the amount to your account on the ship or to your booking payment.

The advantage to paying ahead is that if you run over budget on things like spa visits or port purchases, you are already covered. If, on the other hand, you want to have discretion over whom and how much to tip, setting aside about $20.00 a day per guest will give you enough to cover everyone that you need to.

The suggestions for tipping on Royal Caribbean cruises may change, of course. Some cruise lines have converted to standard service fees because of the influx of non-English speaking tourists. Many of these tourists are not used to tipping in their own countries, but the cruise employees are underpaid without their gratuities. So, keep an eye out for changes in the industry--the initial fees may go up, but if you don't have to pay for tips at the end of your trip when you've all but run out of money, so much the better

Things to See and Do in Bali

by Trias Bali Travel

1) Beach & Surf

Bali is well known for its pristine white beaches and secluded coves, the most famous beaches being in Nusa Dua where long stretches of soft white sand will soothe and comfort the soles of your feet. Many hotels have their own private stretch of beach with a Beach club or restaurant along. Kuta and Uluwatu are areas in South Bali well known for their good surf which makes Bali one of the most popular surf destinations in the world.

2) Padi fields

The beautiful terraced green padi fields are another must see for a visitor to the island of Bali. Many tourists will automatically head to Ubud, about 45 minutes from Bali Airport to stay in a hotel and villa overlooking the padi fields. The best padi field scenery is at Jatih Luwih and Tegallalang which are not far from Ubud.
Beautiful paintings can be found in Ubud, home of many of Bali's well known and aspiring artists. The peaceful scenery and tranquility of the area must be an inspiration for the remarkably detailed paintings these artists create and whose works are displayed in the numerous art galleries and museums found in Ubud village. Some of the more well known galleries are The Agung Rai Museum of Art, Neka Museum, Antonio Blanco Renaissance Museum, Komaneka Gallery and Seniwati Gallery of Art by Women just to name a few.

4) Dance and Music

Dance and music plays a very important part of the life of a Balinese. Every ceremony and festival is almost always accompanied by traditional dance and the soothing sounds of the Gamelan. You will find many locations in and near Ubud where you can watch these dance performances. Dancers wear glittery and colourful costumes, executing to perfection elaborate hand movements and facial expressions to convey stories of the Ramanaya.  You can watch the elegant Legong Dance at the Ubud Palace in central Ubud, or see other entertaining performances such as the Warrior Dance and Kecak Dance at other locations within the town.  Wayang Kulit, or Shadow Play performances are also a common evening entertainment for the local Balinese and tourists alike.

5)  Yoga and Spa Treamtents

There is a growing number of world class spa facilities and health resorts in Bali especially in the Ubud area. Using natural herbs and indigenous products, you will have a wide variety of spa treatments to choose from and enjoy. Spa treatments are ideal for relaxation and what every person who needs a break from this fast paced world of work, family and stress will surely appreciate.  A variety of massages using traditional, Aryuvedic, Shiatsu and hot stones are on the menu for you to choose from. Traditional treatments such as Boreh and Lulur are common. Facials, foot massages, healthy meals and private spa facilities are also available at some hotels and salons. Holistic resorts offer yoga programs and have resident teachers who will guide you to peace of mind.

6) Festivals and Ceremonies

Religion plays a central role in the life of every Balinese family. The island has hundreds of temples, for which each and every one has a temple anniversary, known as Odalan. On this day, the villagers visit the temple for prayers and socializing. It can be considered a community event to bring the people together and promotes good feelings between villagers. With the Balinese Hindu religion comes many daily practices such as placing offerings such as trays of flowers called Canang Sari in temples, shrines and symbolic locations to ward off evil and please the Gods. Nyepi Day, which is the Balinese New Year is a day that is spent in silence in reflective prayer and meditation. The days before Nyepi however provide many opportunities for a tourist to witness ceremonies and rituals including the noisy and colourful Ogoh-Ogoh procession which happens one day before Nyepi, on Melasti Day. This procession is a colourful display of the creativity of the Balinese where towering papier mache ‘monsters' are paraded through the town in noisy processions in efforts to chase away any evil.

Galungan is another major festival for the Balinese which at the end of 10 days is marked by Kuningan Day. This festival occurs every six months so you will have the opportunity to see it in another half year if you miss the first round. During this time you will see the Barong Dance procession which goes through the village performing in front of shops and houses as an act of purification. Cremations are another village affair where the entire family and friends of the deceased are involved. The body is carried from the home grounds through the village to the cremation site where it is place in a towering sarcophagus and burnt to the ground.

7) Sea Sports

Bali has some of the most colourful and interesting sea life you will ever see. Well known dive sites are located in Amed and Tulamben where there are ship wrecks, in Menjangan Island in the North West, and Pandang Bali and Lembongan Island in the East to name a few.  Nusa Dua and Sanur are ideal for snorkeling but there are many other areas as well.

8) Visit Active Volcanoes

Indonesia has hundreds of volcanoes and Bali has some of its own famous ones as well. Kintamani town is where you will see the 2800m high Mount Bali, a popular tourist destination in Bali. The volcano has a large caldera lake and it is possible to go on a sunrise hike to the top of Mount Batur if you can wake up early enough!  Mount Agung, the location of Bali's largest and most sacred temple, Puri Besakih, is Bali's highest and most sacred mountain at 3142m high. Pura Besakih, the Mother Temple is where Bali's most important ceremonies are held and worth visiting if you have the opportunity to go on an East Bali tour especially in April when the temple has its anniversary.

9) Land Adventure Activities

Apart from the southern tourist towns, Bali is an island still very much in its natural state compared to other tourist destinations. You will soon realise that there are many locations that provide the ideal terrain for exciting adventure activities. Bali is not only Kuta and Nusa Dua. Travel north and you will find out what the real Bali has to offer – culture, spectacular scenery and experiences that modern tourist towns with shopping malls are totally devoid of.

The rivers, mountains and jungles are all places where you can experience Bali away from the tourist crowds. White water rafting down the scenic Ayung or down the heart stopping Telaga River rapids is one of the more popular activities for tourists who come to Bali. A mountain bike ride from Kintamani down to Ubud through the padi fields and small villages with friendly locals is another leisurely activity for families and individuals alike. Bali is home to the Taro Elephant Park, complete with accommodation, activities and elephant fun for all ages. You can ride an elephant through the jungle, marvel at their intelligence and let them make you laugh when you visit the Taro Elephant safari park in Bali. Quad driving will take you through the jungles and rougher terrain. Canyon tubing where you sit in a floating tube and coast down a river through the jungle is another fun activity. A new attraction, the Bali Safari and Marine Park is a unique blend of wildlife conservation and culture. You will be able to see wildlife in their natural surroundings and learn about the ancient Balinese culture at this tourist attraction.

10) Shop till you drop

Finally what the first thing tourists tend to do on any trip and most certainly to Bali is to shop. You have Kuta Center, Galeria Nusa Dua, Matahari in Legian and Ubud Market where you will find bargains of all sorts. The Balinese are well known for their creative and artistic skills evident in the numerous arts and crafts found throughout the island. Many craft factories are found in Tegallalang and the surrounding area. Skilled silversmiths in the village of Celuk, sell their creations in eclectic shops in Ubud but you will be able to buy their jewelry at slightly better prices.  Sukawati art market is where you will find many of the fabrics used in Balinese clothing as well as hand made crafts such as woven baskets at good prices. Crafts and statues are made from natural products found on Bali such as coconut wood, bamboo and volcanic sand stone.  Masks and puppets make interesting gift items. You will also find many unique home decor items such as table runners, lamp shades and wall decorations to give your home a touch of Bali style when you return.  Furniture items are often available at attractive prices compared to if you were to purchase them from outside of Bali.

So there you are, a list of many things you can do in Bali. Relax, get fit, have fun, gain new experiences and most of all, a memorable holiday. And if you count them up, you've got a lot more than 10 things to do there. This is by no means an exhaustive list but more than enough for a 3 to 7 day trip to this wonderful and magical island of the Gods.

The Swinger Resorts of Spain

by Max William:

Holiday resorts for swingers have made swinging holidays highly popular. As the concept of living the swingers lifestyle is gaining social acceptance and respectability with the popularity of Swinger resorts is also increasing day by day. For more than two decades, the Hedonism Resorts in Jamaica are providing a swinging experience to lots of enthusiastic couples. Recently, several Swinger resorts have been establishing themselves as popular holiday spots in Spain for the British and other European swingers.

The Spanish Swinger resorts are quite popular when compared to the Caribbean ones. Most of the British swingers don't see this as a disadvantage, rather, they prefer to avoid the pre-organized events, which on the other hand are very much popular with the swingers of USA, who prefer the resorts present in the Caribbean. In Spain, the Swinger resorts are often no bigger than a large villa which is at least suitable for accommodating as few as four couples per holiday.

Around twenty minutes away from Spain's Costa Blanca (the white coast), there is one such resort that consists of four luxury villas. These villas are located in a very beautiful valley and offer seclusion and natural beauty for all those who want to enjoy a quiet but still a highly erotic holiday.

Swinger couples who are renting these villas share naked sunbathing around a lovely swimming pool. The only time the holiday becomes a bit more organized is on Saturday nights when the swinger parties are held. Most of the people there are the visitors who may be staying at the Swinger resorts in that area and also there are some local swingers as well. In Spain there is a swinger holiday hotel consisting of eighty rooms and three suites for swinger groups. The hotel is located on the Costa Del Sol very near to Malaga. Further east along the coast another similar villa offers swinger holidays with regular parties.

On the Canary Islands there are popular swinger resort, on Fuerteventura and Tenerife. On Gran Canaria there is a popular swinger party venue where one can find something going on any night of the week.

The Swinger resorts referred to above are just a few examples from the various resorts that are growing up in Spain. The ones which are described above are located in the coastal region but if one does not mind being an hour or so from the nearest beach then there are some very good resorts to be found further inland.
